Food was amazing and delicious. I had an amazing experience at this Gami Gedara , Sri Lankan restaurant! The flavors were rich, authentic, and perfectly balanced – especially the rice and curry, which tasted just like a home-cooked meal. The rice and curry were absolutely delicious and freshly made. The staff were warm, welcoming, and happy to explain the different dishes, which made the whole experience even better. The portions were generous, and the prices felt very fair for the quality of food. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxed, with a hint of Sri Lankan culture in the décor, making it a great spot for both casual dining and special occasions. Highly recommend if you’re craving authentic Sri Lankan cuisine – a real gem!

I’ve never been to Sri Lanka but I felt I travelled there in a single bite. Delicious food, friendly service and you feel like you’ve been welcomed into someone’s home. Which is fitting, as the restaurant means ‘Village home’ in Singhala.

The food here was incredible it tasted just like mama’s cooking back in Sri Lanka, full of authentic flavors and homemade goodness. The place is cozy and the service was great. We loved every bite and will definitely come back when we’re in Melbourne. Highly recommended to anyone craving real Sri Lankan food! ????????

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 100/100 – Gami Gedara Had Sri Lankan food from Gami Gedara honestly, this place has my heart. The flavours were absolutely on point and beautifully spiced with that true Sri Lankan touch. I’m not someone who usually finishes a whole plate. I tend to stop halfway once I’m full. But this time, I didn’t even realise I had cleared my plate. Massive respect to the chef for creating such flavour packed dishes, and a big shoutout to the team for their warm and genuine customer service. Had the rice and curry at Gami Gedara and it was absolutely amazing! The flavours were rich, authentic, and took me straight back to Sri Lanka. Each curry was full of depth and perfectly spiced – from the creamy dhal to the bold meat curries and tasty sambols. You can tell everything is made with love and care. The portions were generous, and there was a great variety to choose from. It’s honestly one of the best Sri Lankan rice and curry experiences I’ve had in Melbourne. We highly recommend Gami Gedara to anyone looking for delicious and authentic Sri Lankan food. We had a wonderful experience the food was flavourful and truly reminded us of home. What stood out even more was the warm and genuine care from the staff. They were incredibly helpful and accommodating. We were especially touched when they kindly made a small, non-spicy batch of food just for the kids, at no extra charge. It’s rare to find that level of thoughtfulness and hospitality. A beautiful combination of great food and heartfelt service, we’ll definitely be back once we visit Melbourne again!
